Cookie Policy

Last updated: 15 September 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how the Moto Academy website uses essential browser storage and related technologies to support a basic site experience. Moto Academy is an independent motorcycle riding school at 5 Voortrekker Rd, Boston, Cape Town, 7530, South Africa. This policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms.

We use plain language because many visitors want a clear answer to a simple question: what does this site store on my device, and can I control it? In short, the current site template uses essential storage for preference handling and inquiry-form support. It does not currently load analytics or advertising cookies.

1. What we mean by cookies and browser storage

Cookies are small text files that a website may place on your device. Similar outcomes can also be achieved with other browser storage mechanisms, such as localStorage. On this site, the cookie notice preference is remembered using browser storage, and the inquiry form may use a started-at field to record when a form session began.

These tools help the site remember that you accepted the storage notice and help the form handler understand timing context for submissions. They are not used to build advertising profiles on this template.

2. Who is responsible

For questions about cookies or storage on this website, contact Moto Academy:

3. Storage matrix

Storage item Purpose Duration / control
Cookie notice preference Remembers that the visitor accepted the on-site storage notice so the banner does not repeatedly interrupt browsing. Stored in local browser storage until cleared. The notice may appear again after clearing.
Form started-at timing field Helps record when an training request form session began and supports basic form administration and abuse-resistance checks. Removed when the page session ends, the form is reset, or related page data is cleared.
Essential site operation storage May support basic security, session continuity, or hosting platform requirements outside editorial content. Managed through browser settings and, where applicable, hosting defaults.

4. Why essential storage is used

Essential storage is used to keep the site usable and respectful of repeated visits. Without remembering notice acceptance, visitors would see the same banner on every page load. Without basic form timing context, it becomes harder to administer inquiry submissions and reduce low-quality automated posts.

These purposes are operational. They are not a substitute for consent to advertising tracking, because advertising tracking is not part of the current template.

5. Analytics and advertising cookies

The site does not load analytics or advertising cookies in its current form. We do not use this template to run third-party ad networks, remarketing pixels, or behavioural advertising profiles.

If analytics or advertising tools are added in the future, this Cookie Policy will be updated before those tools are activated to explain:

Until such an update is published, visitors should assume that only essential storage described here is intentionally implemented by the site’s front-end scripts.

6. How long storage lasts

Cookie-notice preference storage typically remains until you clear it or until the browser removes it. Form started-at values are tied to the form interaction and are not intended as long-term marketing identifiers. Exact browser behaviour can vary by device, browser brand, and privacy settings.

7. Browser controls

Visitors can clear local browser storage or adjust cookie settings through their browser. Steps differ between browsers, but most include settings for cookies, site data, and clearing cached information. Some essential site preferences may reset after clearing storage, which can cause the notice banner to appear again.

If you use private or incognito browsing, storage may be removed when the window closes, depending on your browser. Browser extensions that block storage may affect whether the notice preference can be remembered.

8. Do Not Track and similar signals

Because this template does not run advertising trackers, there is little additional advertising behaviour to modify in response to Do Not Track signals. If tracking technologies are introduced later, we will describe how such signals are handled in an updated policy.

9. Personal information and storage

Essential storage used for the notice preference generally stores a simple acceptance flag rather than your name or email. Personal information that you type into the inquiry form is submitted for review and is handled under the Privacy Policy. Form fields themselves are not “cookies,” but the form experience may rely on small storage helpers as described above.

10. Third-party embeds

If future versions of the site embed third-party maps, video players, or fonts that set their own cookies, those third parties may process data under their own policies. We will disclose material embeds and update this Cookie Policy when such features are introduced. Visitors should review third-party policies when interacting with embedded content.

11. Children

The website is directed to adults making training inquiries. We do not knowingly use cookies to profile children. If you believe a child has interacted with the inquiry form inappropriately, contact us so we can review related records where applicable.

12. Updates to this Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when our storage practices change, when new tools are added, or when legal requirements evolve. The current version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. We encourage visitors to review this policy periodically, especially before submitting an inquiry.

13. Relationship to training requests

Cookie and storage tools do not confirm lessons. Accepting the storage notice does not confirm a lesson. Submitting the inquiry form does not automatically confirm a lesson. Preferred details remain requests until separately confirmed by Moto Academy.
